Shows i currently look forward to

Well there are many shows out there, but currently there are only two that i look forward to watching every week as these shows release one episode a week.

Slow Horses

Slow Horses is a British spy thriller television series based on the Slough House novels by Mick Herron, and adapted for television by the English comedian and writer Will Smith. It follows Slough House, an MI5 unit where disgraced or failed agents are consigned, under the supervision of Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman).

I started watching this show in 2024, by that time 4 seasons were already out. What really keeps me hooked on Slow Horses every week is how easily it pulls off both pitch-black workplace comedy and genuinely ruthless spy thriller stuff. The whole dynamic at Slough House just works so well, especially Jackson Lamb being disgusting and foul-mouthed yet quietly the smartest guy in the room, backed by a bunch of rejects who constantly prove they have way more grit than the suits at the Park. River Cartwright trying so hard to prove he still belongs just adds that perfect underdog layer. The banter is hilarious, but when things actually hit the fan, the threat is real and nobody feels safe. Season 1 pulled me in, but Season 4 peaked it for me by bringing in River's own dad as the main villain. Making it that personal made the whole arc hit on another level and officially made it my favorite.

Mob Land

MobLand is a crime drama television series created by Ronan Bennett for Paramount+. The series stars Tom Hardy as Harry Da Souza, a fixer working for the Harrigan crime family led by Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) and Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren).

What pulls me into MobLand every week is just how fast and gritty the underworld power struggles are. London’s crime scene and the whole mess surrounding the Harrigans creates this constant tension where things feel like they could blow up at any second. What makes it stick, though, is the impossible moral situations everyone keeps getting thrown into. Watching Harry Da Souza operate as a fixer in the middle of all that chaos is great because every time someone tries to put out a fire, it usually just creates a bigger problem. After the way Season 1 ended, the stakes feel completely cracked open, and waiting each week to see how the fallout plays out has made it such an easy watch to stay locked into.
